It’s now official: Toprak Razgatlioglu will step into MotoGP in 2026, joining Pramac Racing, the new satellite team of Yamaha, in a move that promises to be one of the most talked-about transfers of the decade.
After months of speculation, his manager Kenan Sofuoglu confirmed the breakthrough:
🗣️ "We spoke with five factories from both MotoGP and Superbike. In the end, we signed a contract that will satisfy everyone.'
The announcement is expected to be made public during the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, from June 20 to 22.
At 28 years old, Toprak brings an exceptional racing record: 63 wins, 153 podiums, and 237 race starts. He recently made history by delivering BMW’s first WorldSBK title in 2024, following a remarkable 13-race winning streak. In MotoGP, he will ride a factory-spec Yamaha M1, on par with bikes used by Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins, and will continue his partnership with Red Bull.
For Yamaha, Toprak’s arrival is a bold strategic move. The Japanese manufacturer has been steadily improving since late 2024, and with the upcoming switch to Pirelli tires in 2027 and 850cc engine regulations, Toprak’s unique riding style and braking talent may prove invaluable.
