MotoGP is ending the MotoE World Championship after 2025.

Ducati, which took over as the sole bike supplier in 2023, says the project was as much about research and development as it was about racing. Big strides have been made — including shedding over 8kg from the battery pack — but there’s still a gap to the performance of combustion-engine machines. Ducati is now pushing ahead with solid-state battery tech in collaboration with Audi and PowerCo.

The title fight continues for another two races: Casadei and Baldassarri are tied on points at the top, while Jordi Torres remains the most successful rider in MotoE history.

MotoE may be going on hiatus, but its lessons will shape the road ahead for electric motorcycling.
