The Husqvarna 701, a dynamic model from the powerhouse of Husqvarna is mostly known, and appreciated for its versatility. Coming in two versions, the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and the 701 Enduro, both extremely popular for both experienced riders and those starting out. With plenty of power to suit most situation it can be used to tackle trails as well as street and even track performance.
The Models
There are two main versions of the Husqvarna 701: the Enduro and the Supermoto. Each has its own unique features.
Husqvarna 701 Supermoto
If you prefer street riding, the 701 Supermoto is for you. It is designed for agility and speed on paved roads. With a more aggressive stance and street-oriented tires, it offers an exciting ride through city streets and winding roads. The Supermoto is about sharp handling and quick response.
According to some, a perfect supermoto only rivaled by the KTM 690 SMC-R (which makes sense) the bike is with its 692.7cc single-cylinder engine, makes the bike into a thrilling riding experience with exceptional torque and power. The Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is equipped with advanced electronics, including ride-by-wire throttle and switchable ride modes, ensuring optimal performance in various conditions. Its lightweight chassis, combined with premium suspension components, provides excellent handling and stability.
Husqvarna 701 Enduro
This model is built for adventure. It is perfect for off-road riding. It has long-travel suspension, sturdy tires, and a frame that can handle rough terrain. The 701 Enduro is all about stability and control, even on tough trails.
The Husqvarna 701 Enduro combines the best of off-road capability with long-distance comfort. Powered by the same 692.7cc engine as its Supermoto counterpart, the 701 Enduro is built to tackle challenging terrains with ease. It features high-quality WP suspension with extensive travel, making it ideal for both technical trails and smooth roads. The bike's robust construction, coupled with advanced electronics such as a lean-angle sensitive traction control and off-road ABS, ensures safety and control in all riding conditions.
Model history
Since its introduction in 2016 the 701 has been revamped a couple of times, adding performance and reliability throughout the years of development:
2016: The Husqvarna 701 was launched. Riders loved its performance and reliability. The first models were known for their powerful engines and strong build.
2017: Minor updates improved comfort and handling. Riders noticed better suspension and updated electronics.
2018: A new engine was introduced. It met stricter emission standards but still packed a punch. Ride-by-wire technology made throttle response smoother.
2019: The bike got a new look. A more comfortable seat and better wind protection were added. The design became sleeker.
2020: New electronics were added. A refined ABS system and advanced traction control improved safety and control.
2021-2023: The latest models have even better engine performance, chassis design, and rider comfort. These versions balance power, agility, and user-friendly features.
2024: The most recent models continue to impress. They have cutting-edge technology and design improvements. Riders appreciate the blend of power and precision.
The ride
Riding a Husqvarna 701, whether the supermoto version or the enduro brings a combination of power and agility suitable for long journeys, adventure riding or blasting through the streets. Suspension setup and rider position helps get the most out of your everyday ride and with some small modifications it can even go really, really far.
