It’s official! Nicolò Bulega official will make his full-time MotoGP debut in 2027 with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, joining Fermín Aldeguer and riding a Ducati Desmosedici GP.

Bulega’s journey to MotoGP has taken an unconventional route. After rising through the Moto3 and Moto2 ranks, the Italian made the switch to World Supersport with Ducati in 2022 — and that move proved to be a game changer.

He dominated the 2023 WorldSSP season, taking 10 poles and 16 race wins on his way to the championship before stepping up to WorldSBK with Ducati in 2024.

And he made an immediate impact.

Bulega finished runner-up in WorldSBK in both 2024 and 2025, before taking his performance to another level in 2026. With 26 wins from 27 races so far, he currently leads the championship and has firmly established himself as one of the fastest riders in the production-bike paddock.

Now, the MotoGP dream is finally becoming reality.

Bulega already has experience with Ducati’s MotoGP machinery as a test rider and made his MotoGP race debut last season as a replacement rider for the Ducati Lenovo Team.

And there’s an extra layer to the story — Bulega is returning to the VR46 family, having previously been part of the VR46 Riders Academy during his early career.

“I don’t want to set any goals, I want to try to do well, take it one race at a time,” Bulega said.

First, though, there’s unfinished business in WorldSBK. With the 2026 championship still to fight for, Bulega has the chance to finish his production-bike career by adding a WorldSBK title to his CV before taking on MotoGP in 2027.
