MotoGP has officially confirmed that the Qatar Grand Prix, originally scheduled for April, has been postponed due to the ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East. The race will now take place from 6–8 November 2026 at Lusail International Circuit.
The decision was made in coordination with the FIM, MotoGP promoter, and local authorities in Qatar, with the safety and wellbeing of riders, teams, officials, and fans remaining the top priority. Organisers also emphasised that the change ensures the event can be delivered under the best possible conditions later in the season.
The revised date has led to a small reshuffle at the end of the 2026 MotoGP calendar. The Portuguese Grand Prix in Portimão will now be held on 22 November, while the season finale in Valencia moves to 29 November. All other rounds of the championship remain unchanged.
MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta explained that the decision was taken with great care and close collaboration across the paddock and with partners in Qatar. He also confirmed that ticket holders will be able to roll over their tickets to the rescheduled event.
Local organisers in Qatar and the FIM have both expressed their full support for the move, highlighting that prioritising the safety of everyone involved in the championship is essential.
Fans can now look forward to a dramatic end to the 2026 season, with the final rounds in Portimão, Qatar, and Valencia set to bring the championship battle to a thrilling conclusion.
