Pol Espargaro is already eyeing a potential return to MotoGP action. The GasGas Tech3 rider aims to return to the track this month, and potentially at the Italian GP in around a week and a half's time.
In an interview with TV3, quoted by motogp.com, the Spaniard spoke of his objectives regarding his return: 'Next week, I'll have my medical check-up, and if the doctors give me the green light, I'll be heading to Mugello. If that's not possible, I'll aim to make it back for the second race (Sachsenring) or the third (Assen) of this triple-header'.
Regardless of when the return happens, one thing is certain - Espargaro misses competing, as he confided: 'I'm itching to get back on the motorcycle. It's what gets me out of bed every day, my ultimate fuel. I'd love to return for Mugello. Seeing the KTM bikes performing well also fuels my motivation.'
On his current physical condition, #44 detailed: 'Now, I find myself in a privileged position with very little pain, almost none. Those initial days were a fight for my life. While I wasn't fully aware during my time in the ICU, I witnessed the suffering of those around me.'
